About 1756-EN2T
The 1756-EN2T is a ControlLogix Communication adapter that supports Ethernet I/P protocol. This module is a single slot module which may be installed to any slot of a ControlLogix chassis. It has One (1) RJ45 port that is used to interface with Ethernet network. It also has a USB 1.1 port that may be used for initial configuration of the module such as firmware Flashing.
Ethernet is a user-friendly and modern protocol that is widely utilized nowadays due to evolution of Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). Devices with capable of Ethernet protocol are most ready for implanting the emerging technology. Also, Ethernet is an open protocol which means network scalability is far easier to implement as devices are required are not proprietary types.
