Yokogawa Electric Corporation has released Design Diagram Converter, a new OpreX Data Model Broker component that can automatically generate intelligent P&IDs and instrument lists from 2D CAD P&ID files.
This software can read P&IDs created with 2D CAD software, convert them to P&IDs compliant with international standard file format, and automatically generate an instrumentation list. By automating a task that previously had to be done manually, the workload is significantly decreased, quality is assured through the reduction of human error, and the promotion of digitalizing plant engineering is achieved.
The Design Diagram Converter can also generate XML documents that are compliant with international P&ID standards, making it easy to use design information from an existing plant asset in other systems and applications that support the same format.
The software is targeted at a variety of industries, including oil and gas, petrochemicals, chemicals, renewable energy, power, pulp and paper, pharmaceuticals, food, mining, iron and steel, water distribution, and wastewater treatment. It can be used for digital transformation of P&IDs and automatic generation of an instrumentation list in plants for oil, chemicals, and other materials.
